-Expressionism

Expressionism is not a particular style, but rather a movement that followed the philosophy of distorting reality to portray emotionalism. Movements included Die Bruke (focused on preservation of the past), Fauvism/ The Blue Riders (which focused on bright colors and often animals) and that is it. Main artists include Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Henri Mattise, Kathe Kollwitz, Ernst Kirchner, Franz Marc, and Wassily Kandinsky.

Music:
1900's through the 1950's was mostly classical, then jazz and folk. The 50's debuted rock n roll. The 60's and 70's expanded on this and more genre's formed, like new wave in the 80's. Devo was a guiding light for music to come. Toad the Wet Sprocket as well.
